E3 2017: Beyond Good & Evil 2 Revealed Once More

Ubisoft, after almost a decade, has once again shown Beyond Good & Evil 2 with a CG trailer but this time, it’s a prequel.

The prequel will feature a ragtag group of characters who are struggling to keep their freedom and are trying to stay their own paths in System 3. Gabrielle Shrager, the Narrative Director of the game said at the press conference, “Corporations create hybrids in their labs and enslave them to colonize the stars in order to compete for power and cosmic resources.” A brief development video was shown afterward, giving us a glimpse of what the open world will be like.

Ubisoft has also announced the Space Monkey Program,  It gives fans access “to crash-test, discuss and inspire everything from character design to cultural influences, to the flight controls on our massive star-faring vessels.” They later stated, “We want you by our side at the earliest stages of development and throughout production to take part in the adventure!”

The game was first announced all the way back to Ubidays 2008 and never saw the light of day. This no longer centers around the story of Jade and instead is a prequel to the events before Jade’s birth. No platforms or release date were announced for this game’s release. However, according to the Space Monkey Program, it seems like it might be a long while until its release as Beyond Good & Evil 2 is at its “earliest stages of development.”
