E3 2017: Metro Exodus Returns Players to a Post-apocalyptic Russia

Metro Exodus

One of the more surprising, but definitely welcome announcements from Microsoft’s E3 showing was Metro Exodus – the new game in the Metro series. The story-driven first person shooter is being developed by 4A Games and represents the studio’s “most ambitious project yet”, according to Creative Director, Andriy Prokhorov. Watch the reveal footage below.

Players will return to Russia and spend an entire year in its vast wilderness, traversing across the entire continent in a story inspired by the novels that the game series is based on. It’s now the year 2036 and you’ll play as Artyom as you escape the tunnels of the Metro underneath the ruins of Moscow, looking for hope and a new life in the Eastern parts of the continent.

The footage above shows a lot of the same difficult terrain and conditions that players contended with in the previous games. Your mask will get damaged, you will face terrible, monstrous enemies, and you will want to save every bullet. Metro Exodus will release in 2018 for PS4, Xbox One and PC. It is being published by Deep Silver.
