It has been little over a year since copies of the award-winning Ori and the Blind Forest came to consoles. Prior to that, the tale of Ori captivated the hearts and minds of PC gamers all over the world thanks to Moon Studios’ fantastic indie adventure. At E3 2017’s Xbox Conference, fans were treated to a surprise announcement. Ori and the Will of the Wisps is a sequel to Ori and the Blind Forest and it is coming exclusively to Xbox One and Windows 10 PCs.
There has not been any announcement on a release date, or a date for the Windows 10 PC release, however, the announcement revealed that Ori and the Will of the Wisps will play in 4K resolution on the Xbox One X, and is HDR compatible like the Xbox One X. Sadly, no gameplay footage was shown just yet, but we do know that Ori and the Will of the Wisps stars the previous protagonist Ori, and will retain its Metroidvania styled gameplay from its predecessor.
The cinematic trailer shows that Moon Studios is still just as focused on beautiful art, music, and environments as they were with the original game, and I personally cannot wait to see what Ori and the Will of the Wisps has in store when it releases in the future.
