E3 2017: Star Wars Battlefront II Gameplay and First DLC Plans Revealed

<p><em>Star Wars Battlefront II<&sol;em>&&num;8216&semi;s gameplay was finally unveiled during the EA Play 2017 press conference&comma; ahead of this years E3&period; While trailers have been around showing off the game engine&comma; this was the first time that EA and DICE had shown off the game in action&period; The trailer was a very effective hype piece&comma; showing off pieces from all eras of the films&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p><iframe width&equals;"560" height&equals;"315" src&equals;"https&colon;&sol;&sol;www&period;youtube&period;com&sol;embed&sol;&lowbar;q51LZ2HpbE" frameborder&equals;"0" allowfullscreen><&sol;iframe><&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>Some of the biggest highlights included&comma; surprisingly&comma; a battle on Naboo from the prequel trilogy&comma; with Clone Troopers and Battle Droids abound&period; The map looks absolutely gorgeous&comma; and was definitely a standout in the trailer&period; Perhaps even more so was the inclusion of Darth Maul&period; Still a fan favorite&comma; the dual-bladed lightsaber-wielding Sith looked as impressive as ever&comma; and looks to be a great deal of fun to play with on the battlefield&period; Also included were scenes including Yoda&comma; Rey&comma; Kylo Ren&comma; and Boba Fett&comma; with more likely to be revealed&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<figure id&equals;"attachment&lowbar;126413" aria-describedby&equals;"caption-attachment-126413" style&equals;"width&colon; 1000px" class&equals;"wp-caption aligncenter"><img class&equals;"size-large wp-image-126413" src&equals;"https&colon;&sol;&sol;cdn&period;bagogames&period;com&sol;wp-content&sol;uploads&sol;2017&sol;06&sol;11005347&sol;SWBFII&lowbar;Reveal&lowbar;Screenshot&lowbar;5&lowbar;SP-1024x576&period;jpg" alt&equals;"" width&equals;"1000" height&equals;"563" &sol;><figcaption id&equals;"caption-attachment-126413" class&equals;"wp-caption-text">Star Wars Battlefront II&comma; EA<&sol;figcaption><&sol;figure>&NewLine;<p>It was also revealed that the game would be including a class system for players to choose from&comma; much like DICE&&num;8217&semi;s <em>Battlefield<&sol;em> games&period; There is a support-focused officer&comma; a robotic assault trooper who will be the all around soldier&comma; a heavy trooper&comma; and the specialist that is more of a sniper role&period; This should prove to be interesting and should add some great dynamics in team composition as opposed to the first game&comma; however star cards will be coming back so there will be more customization still available to players&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>One other key piece of information that EA revealed is that DLC for <em>Star Wars Battlefront II<&sol;em> will be free&period; For the previous <em>Battlefront<&sol;em>&comma; the season pass for the game cost almost as much as the game itself did&comma; which tended to keep players separated&period; EA has stated that they don&&num;8217&semi;t want to separate the player base&comma; so they will be releasing DLC in &&num;8220&semi;seasons&&num;8221&semi;&period; Each season will have new characters&comma; maps&comma; star cards&comma; etc&comma; that will be available for all players&period; The first DLC season will include Finn and Captain Phasma as the first heroes available&period; It is unknown what type of offering that EA will come up with in order to make some money post-purchase&comma; but things like loot crates or skins will probably make an appearance at some point&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<figure id&equals;"attachment&lowbar;126414" aria-describedby&equals;"caption-attachment-126414" style&equals;"width&colon; 1000px" class&equals;"wp-caption aligncenter"><img class&equals;"size-large wp-image-126414" src&equals;"https&colon;&sol;&sol;cdn&period;bagogames&period;com&sol;wp-content&sol;uploads&sol;2017&sol;06&sol;11005650&sol;xsmall&period;img&lowbar;-1024x576&period;jpg" alt&equals;"" width&equals;"1000" height&equals;"563" &sol;><figcaption id&equals;"caption-attachment-126414" class&equals;"wp-caption-text">Star Wars Battlefront II&comma; EA<&sol;figcaption><&sol;figure>&NewLine;<p><em>Star Wars Battlefront II<&sol;em> is looking fantastic&comma; and EA and DICE appear to have listened to what people liked and disliked about the first one&period; The single player campaign that is focused on a TIE pilot&comma; all new maps&comma; space combat&comma; and free DLC all sounds like they are making a great Star Wars package&period; Were you a fan of the first game&comma; or the previous iterations&quest; Are you excited to dive into more Star Wars action&quest; Let us know in the comments below&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p><strong>Source&colon; EA Play Conference &lpar;via <a href&equals;"https&colon;&sol;&sol;www&period;polygon&period;com&sol;2017&sol;6&sol;10&sol;15776500&sol;e3-2017-star-wars-battlefront-2-dlc-free-finn-phasma-crait">Polygon<&sol;a>&rpar;<&sol;strong><&sol;p>&NewLine;
