Amongst the very low key Nintendo Direct presentation was an in between excitement dose of a trailer for Mario Kart 8. In this installment things from both Mario Kart Wii and Mario Kart 7 were smashed together along with familiar power ups to use during racing. Motorcycles were brought back, the hang gliders from Mario Kart 7 were also brought in, as well as the new ability to drive upside down and some hover jets. They hover jets make it easier to maneuver over rough terrain and other obstacles plus speed ahead of the competition. You can still drive underwater and some of the recurring drivers such as Waluigi, Peach, Daisy, Bowser, Donkey Kong, and others make a comeback.
