It was reported some time ago that the ESA (Entertainment Software Association) had threatened to move E3 from the Los Angeles Convention Center after issues arose over building Farmers Field (a stadium) at the convention center. There were concerns that the stadium would adversely affect the crowd movement during next year’s E3, however, a deal has been struck and E3 will call the LACC its home for the next three years.
CEO of the ESA, Michael Gallagher, said of the decision:
“We are proud to partner with Los Angeles for another three years. The City serves as a strong backdrop for the video game industry’s biggest announcements and we look forward to remaining in LA.”
E3 conventions can see up to 47,500 visitors every year, producing a yearly revenue of about $40 million.
