In a developing story, EA has announced they’ll be bringing a paid subscription service to the Xbox One called EA Access.
By paying $4.99 a month (or $29.99 a year), players will get access to something called the Vault. Inside this vault, will be games which the consumer can play, as much or as little as they like. As an EA Access subscriber, you will receive a 10% discount on EA digital content, which also includes full games and DLC. Other perks include access to trial versions of EA games a week before they’re slated to release. EA is saying, at this time, that game saves from these trials will carry over, if you choose to pay and unlock the game. The first eligible games for this save feature will include the 2015 EA Sports roster and Dragon Age: Inquisition.
The first four games to be added to the Vault are FIFA14, Madden NFL 25, Peggle 2, and Battlefield 4. More titles will be added soon.
When the service launches, subscriptions will be available through Xbox Live, as well as stores like GameStop and Amazon.com. EA has not revealed a launch date yet but says it will be “soon”. For now, EA Access will be limited to the North America and Europe.
