You may remember that we recently posted a news story that looked at the story that Electronic Arts had confirmed that they had nothing in development for Nintendo’s next generation console, the Wii U. The story, we said, could be the ‘final nail in the coffin’ for the console which is struggling to shift even a modest amount of units around the world as it’s rivals, the PS4 and Xbox One, get forever closer.

However, in less than a week, EA have backtracked and said that they are actually developing games for the Wii U, almost ignoring the quote they gave previously.

When asked about which console Blake Jorgensen (EA’s chief financial officer), would go to the top of the podium this generation it was said that:
“You know, I think Nintendo’s business was more [an] extension of their last console. I think what the consumer will find is a lot more powerful gameplaty with the new boxes that are comign out, and a lot of excitement, but it’ll remain to be seen as to the services associated with those as to how consumers decide which direction they might want to go”.
