After the many issues involving servers, crashes and other bugs we would only assume that Electronic Arts would try to win back fans after the launch of SimCity went horribly wrong in the US. After all, if you purchase a new game for your collection you most likely want to be able to jump straight into it after unwrapping it (or downloading we suppose) and throwing (not literall,y we hope) it into your CD-Drive.

If you were one of the many who did experience problems then, as we guessed, Electronic Arts wants to say sorry by giving you a free digital PC title. In fact, it isn’t just you who will be getting one as all SimCity players who have an activated copy of SimCity by March 18th are eligible for the promotion.

Whilst no specific titles were given, Lucy Bradshaw (the general manager at Maxis) announced that players will “receive an email telling them how to redeem their free game”.

Does this count as a “sorry” to you? Let us know your views on Electronic Arts olive branch in the comments below!
