EA Is Planning A Subscription Service Called The Sims 4 Premium

EA may have revealed more than they wanted to when they showed off 20 minutes of in-game footage from their upcoming The Sims 4 game. During the presentation, sharp eyed fans spotted a banner advert for a service called The Sims 4 Premium. According to the advert, this service gives you  ”early access to three new packs, with exclusive items. Your Sims can throw a spooky costume party, camp in the great outdoors, and toast to the new year in style.” You can see this for yourself at the 13:26 mark on the video above.

It wouldn’t be the first time that EA has offered a subscription service for additional content. Battlefield Premium offers early access to DLC packs as well as exclusive personalisation options.  It sounds like The Sims 4 Premium will be a similar service. EA has already been receiving harsh criticism from The Sims fans for omitting key features from this sequel. The news that some items will be for subscribers only is sure to add to their anger.

We’ll update this story when we hear official confirmation from EA.
