E3 2017: The Elder Scrolls Legends announces Skyrim Expansion and Mobile Release

The Elder Scrolls Legends has slowly been expanding since its release in March; it has already had its first expansion (involving the Dark Brotherhood) and has made a number of changes and improvements. At the E3 2017 Bethesda Conference, Bethesda revealed all new content for the game, as well as an Android and iOS release. This comes only a few weeks after The Elder Scrolls Legends released on Steam, adding another platform to its belt.

The Elder Scrolls Legends: Heroes of Skyrim will take players to the land of Skyrim, adding 150 new cards to the game that consist of shouts, dragon themed cards, and familiar characters like Aela the Huntress and Delphine the leader of The Blades. The mobile version of The Elder Scrolls Legends will offer the already released Dark Brotherhood expansion, while also providing a number of new concepts like in-game tournaments, and something called a Chaos Arena.

I am very excited to dive into The Elder Scrolls Legends: Heroes of Skyrim, as I’ve enjoyed the land of Skyrim in my Elder Scrolls V playthroughs, so it is only fitting that I try to collect as many of the cards as possible. With the new spectator and global tournament modes available, this enhances the experience for people even more, and new cards will change multiplayer strategies as well as change how we play in single player.

While The Elder Scrolls Legends was already available on iPad and Android tablets, it makes sense that they would open up the game to all mobile devices. Many people don’t carry around a tablet and instead just use their smartphone for games on the go. I’m excited to see how The Elder Scrolls Legends: Heroes of Skyrim changes the way people play, and hopefully it will encourage people to break out of standard strategies and try something new.
