One of the best parts of Super Mario Odyssey has been its level design, with every nook and cranny feeling utilized and perfect for hiding moons in. Well, Nintendo is fully aware of this and will be letting players take advantage of their own secret areas they’ve discovered by giving them balloons to hide for other players to find. Luigi’s Balloon World will be available in a free update for Super Mario Odyssey that will be available in February.
You can engage with the balloon content by talking to Luigi, who will then offer you two possible ways to play: Hide It or Find It. In the Hide It mode, players have thirty seconds to hide a balloon and Find It mode, gives players thirty seconds to find someone else’s balloon. By finding balloons and hiding them really well so people don’t find them, you’ll move up in the online rankings. As mentioned, this is definitely a mode that benefits people who have memorized a lot of the weirder places you can find within the worlds of Super Mario Odyssey. In order to play Luigi’s Balloon World, you’ll have to have beaten the main story first, which is probably a good idea anyways so you’re familiar with the majority of places to hide balloons.
Along with Luigi’s Balloon World, the free update will also include new outfits, including the Sunshine Shades and Outfit, Musician Hat and Outfit, and Knight Helmet and Armor. There will also be new filters for Snapshot Mode for the budding Mario photographers out there.
