EVE Fanfest 2014: Project Legion Announced

<p>&nbsp&semi;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<figure id&equals;"attachment&lowbar;61573" aria-describedby&equals;"caption-attachment-61573" style&equals;"width&colon; 300px" class&equals;"wp-caption alignleft"><a href&equals;"https&colon;&sol;&sol;cdn&period;bagogames&period;com&sol;wp-content&sol;uploads&sol;2014&sol;05&sol;05105259&sol;DUST-514-S&period;jpg"><img class&equals;"wp-image-61573 size-medium" src&equals;"https&colon;&sol;&sol;cdn&period;bagogames&period;com&sol;wp-content&sol;uploads&sol;2014&sol;05&sol;05105259&sol;DUST-514-S&period;jpg" alt&equals;"Dust 514 received mixed reviews when it launched in May last year " width&equals;"300" height&equals;"168" &sol;><&sol;a><figcaption id&equals;"caption-attachment-61573" class&equals;"wp-caption-text">Dust 514 received mixed reviews when it launched in May last year<&sol;figcaption><&sol;figure>&NewLine;<p><span style&equals;"color&colon; &num;000000&semi;">CCP games have announced a new PC game set in the EVE Online Universe&period; This newest title will be a free to play FPS and is currently known as Project Legion&period; The announcement came at EVE Fanfest 2014&comma; an annual festival which is held in CCP&&num;8217&semi;s home city of Reykjavik&period;<&sol;span><&sol;p>&NewLine;<p><span style&equals;"color&colon; &num;000000&semi;">Project Legion is said to be very similar to the Icelandic developer&&num;8217&semi;s other free to play FPS&comma; Dust 514&period; This PS3 exclusive fell far short of it&&num;8217&semi;s potential and CCP has said that their next shooter will be far better&period; In an interview with<a href&equals;"http&colon;&sol;&sol;www&period;polygon&period;com&sol;2014&sol;5&sol;3&sol;5677566&sol;Dust-514-project-legion-reaction"> Polygon<&sol;a>&comma; VP of Product development Sean Decker said that &&num;8221&semi;At the end of the day we want to take the things we&&num;8217&semi;ve learned from <&sol;span><i style&equals;"color&colon; &num;000000&semi;">Dust<&sol;i><span style&equals;"color&colon; &num;000000&semi;">&comma; and yes it’s in the same IP&comma; same place and all the rest of it&comma; but we want to do some fundamentally different things with it that we feel we missed out on and that we didn&&num;8217&semi;t do right&&num;8221&semi;&period;<&sol;span><&sol;p>&NewLine;<p><span style&equals;"color&colon; &num;000000&semi;"> He went on to state that Project Legion is very early in development and that it would only ever see a full release if the team were able to generate a positive fan reaction&period; &&num;8220&semi;Put it out in front of them&comma; see if they like it&period; EVE Valkyrie &lpar;CCP&&num;8217&semi;s Occulus Rift title&rpar; was a perfect example of that&period; Legion will or will not be an example of that&comma; we’ll see&comma; and if Legion does well&comma; great&comma; we’ll continue to invest in it&period; If it doesn’t&comma; we’ll open up some beers&comma; have some fun and say&comma; &&num;8220&semi;&&num;8216&semi;Ok&comma; that was fun&comma; let’s do something different now and go again&period;<&sol;span>&&num;8216&semi;&&num;8221&semi; <span style&equals;"color&colon; &num;000000&semi;">So far the fan reaction has been largely negative&comma; especially from the current players of Dust 514 who feel that CCP has abandoned them for this new title&period;<&sol;span><&sol;p>&NewLine;<p><span style&equals;"color&colon; &num;000000&semi;">As well as Project Legion&comma; <a href&equals;"https&colon;&sol;&sol;www&period;youtube&period;com&sol;watch&quest;v&equals;yFTUazuGdTw">CCP also showed a CGI trailer for something called EVE Forever<&sol;a>&period; Whether this is a game or something else is currently unclear but the trailer suggests that it will tie all EVE Universe games together in some fashion&period;<&sol;span><&sol;p>&NewLine;<p><span style&equals;"color&colon; &num;000000&semi;">Via <a href&equals;"http&colon;&sol;&sol;www&period;gamespot&period;com&sol;articles&sol;playstation-3-s-shooter-dust-514-redesigned-for-the-pc-as-project-legion&sol;1100-6419407&sol;">Gamspot<&sol;a><&sol;span><&sol;p>&NewLine;
