CCP Games has made an exciting announcement as EVE: Valkyrie, the much awaited VR multiplayer dogfighting shooter, and Gunjack – a top-selling VR arcade shooter previously released on Samsung Gear – have both been released for the Oculus Rift platform on PC.
“This is just the beginning of our plans for virtual reality,” said Hilmar Veigar Pétursson, CEO of CCP Games. “Our goal has always been to create the most immersive virtual worlds, and VR now gives us a powerful new tool to achieve that.”
[EVE: Valkyrie, CCP Games]EVE: Valkyrie is set deep in the lawless regions of the EVE universe where the Valkyrie are a mercenary faction led by the enigmatic Rán Kavik (voiced by Katee Sackhoff). Their goal is simple: to make some money whilst quenching their thirst for vengeance and conquests as they take out rival pirate bands along the way.

There’s also a free update already in the works for EVE: Valkyrie, which will include a new game mode: Carrier Assault. CCP Games will be supplying the game with continuous updates for new maps, ships, and modes in cooperation with the game’s Founders. EVE: Valkyrie will also be available for the PlayStation VR headset for PlayStation 4 in October of this year.
[EVE: Valkyrie, CCP Games]In Gunjack, players take the role of a gun turret operator on a mining vessel in the dangerous Outer Ring. Naturally, it will be the player’s job to defend the vessel from pirates and other scavengers and opportunists who are looking to take whatever they can.
[EVE: Gunjack, CCP Games]Gunjack has added higher-resolution graphics, enhanced audio, improved textures, models, effects, achievements, leaderboards, and much more for its debut on PC. The game is currently $9.99 and will be also be available for the HTC Vive VR Headset and PlayStation VR later this year.
