EVO Online Registration Opens June 5th

Get those controllers and fightsticks ready

EVO 2020’s rather strange series of events has led it through some rather interesting problems. From an in-person event cancelation, to an announcement of the event taking place online, to concerns being raised about netplay, this event’s been through the wringer in May. Now that most of the problems have been addressed, it seems like the show will finally go on.

On that positive note, the team at EVO has also announced that they’re opening registration on June 5th (tomorrow, as of the time of writing). This means that the four open tournaments that were previously scheduled, will be available to the public very soon.

Details About EVO Online Registration

EVO Online’s news has come in the form of telling people various details regarding the registration tomorrow. For starters, the series will have three different regions, and platforms have been revealed, both seen below.

(Author’s notes: MrWiz has stated that he and the EVO team are looking into the Skullgirls platform choice, so it might be subject to change soon. Also, Windows 10 extends to Xbox One players in the case of Killer Instinct.)

Among this, they’ve also revealed which games were going into each weekend slot, shown below.

With the conclusion of the open tournaments, it seems like the other six games will be played either during that time, or in that last weekend (July 31st-August 2nd). The biggest part of the EVO Online open tournaments, though, came in the form of this tweet.

So, these four open tournaments are completely free to enter, but EVO Online registration has not had details revealed for the main six titles. though if registration opens for them on June 5th, it might be for a small fee.

EVO Online will be taking place throughout weekends in July. We’ll continue to update you as the event draws closer. You can visit EVO’s website here.
