Ex-Lionhead Members Developing Fable Fortune

Fable Fortune

A new Fable game called Fable Fortune is in development and the team behind it is Flaming Fowl Studios.

Microsoft sadly closed Lionhead Studios, the group who made the previous Fable games, but this did not break the spirit of the developers who wanted to continue creating titles for the series. The new team, consisting of some of the Lionhead developers, has created a new indie studio called Flaming Fowl Studios. They have the license to create the next Fable game which is titled Fable Fortune.

Fable Fortune will be a free-to-play fantasy collectible card game that is set in the fantastic land of Albion. The game will feature a way for players to go on quests and role-play – with a bit of a twist. The game will push players into a new experience for each play session because of the nature of the game’s strategies that must be altered each session. As per Fable fashion, players make a decision for their individual hero to do good or evil. Quests are chosen by each of the dueling players once they have begun a match. Heroes must build a deck and create a strategy that will make their quest successful, which in turn will earn them rewards.

A unique feature of Fable Fortune is that there will be a co-op mode that lets the Hero create a team with a friend to battle against Fable villains. In the co-op mode, players will construct their individual deck and then their resources are pulled together during the duel (much like Two-Headed Giant gameplay in Magic: the Gathering).
