2K Games has released a new trailer above which goes through the opening moments of the original BioShock and shows the work they’ve done to make it look better for BioShock: The Collection. Also released at the same time is a clip from the director’s commentary, Imagining BioShock, which will be included in the collection. This will feature interviews with Ken Levine and Shawn Robertson by Geoff Keighley and be interspersed throughout the game. You can watch that below:

Despite it only being the first several minutes of the game, and even that is cut in between to only show significant moments early on, the comparison shots definitely show a huge improvement between generations. There are also clips throughout the trailer that show off moments from BioShock 2 and BioShock Infinite in its remastered glory. I’m just excited to revisit Rapture and Columbia and finally sink my teeth into BioShock 2‘s Minerva’s Den, as well Burial at Sea for BioShock Infinite.

The clip from Imagining BioShock also has me intrigued because hearing Ken Levine talk about the inspirations and origins of BioShock is infinitely fascinating for me. I can listen to the man talk for days.

BioShock: The Collection will be released on September 13th for PS4, Xbox One and PC. It will include all single player add-on content, but will not include BioShock 2‘s multiplayer.
