Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout released on August 4 and under a week later the game has already sold more than 2 million copies on Steam. Most likely due to the inclusion of a Gordon Freeman skin but still. Impressive numbers if you also consider:

The game garnered attention for its Wipeout (the show, not the game series) inspired gameplay. The game plays like a game show where the goal is to get a bunch of fall guys in an arena and not fall. Only one victor remains at the end of each round as chaos ensues and increases more and more. It’s an interesting take on the whole battle royale idea with a ton of players fighting for the win.

A Big Success

2 million copies sold in less than a week is pretty impressive for an indie title. It goes to show how all you need for success is a good concept and cute graphics. The developers are also pretty grateful for the support the game has gotten since its release.

“It has been overwhelming and humbling to watch the launch and reception of Fall Guys. We’re incredibly grateful to all of our players for their support and have big plans for the game in the future. We’re thrilled by the response and can’t quite believe how beloved our little jelly beans have already become.” – Paul Croft, Mediatonic co-founder and chief games officer

Fall Guys is free for all PlayStation Plus subscribers throughout August on PlayStation 4. So if you haven’t played it yet, now is a good time to give it a go. You can of course also get it on Steam on PC.
