Far Cry 5 Season Pass Will Send Players On Some Crazy Adventures

Far Cry 5, Ubisoft

A title that seems to be sneaking in under the radar for release this winter is Far Cry 5. While many people are anticipating games like God of War and Sea of Thieves, Ubisoft is looking to tell a pretty intense story in its latest Far Cry game. Ubisoft recently detailed what will be coming with the season pass for Far Cry 5, and well, it sounds a little insane.

For those who aren’t familiar with the story behind Far Cry 5, it’s set in a fictional America, specifically Hope County, Montana. When the players show up in town, they arrive to find a coup taking place by a fanatical doomsday cult known as the Project at Eden’s Gate. The villain of the game is one Joseph Seed, and his cult has been assembled to lead his followers to salvation, and of course, they do things their own way. What is new in Far Cry 5 is a player creator, where the player makes their own character and plays a deputy that is headed to Hope County to arrest Seed. The game has a really cool setting that while in some ways is fictional, doesn’t seem too far from being an actual reality.

The season pass, however, takes the traditional Far Cry craziness and dials it up to 11. There will be three adventures players can take on that come in the season pass. “Hours of Darkness” takes players back to the Vietnam war to take on the Viet Cong, in what sounds like the sanest of the three adventures. The next is “Dead Living Zombies”, and players will take on the undead in a number of b-movie scenarios. Lastly is “Lost on Mars”, where players will leave the Earth and head to Mars where they must take on giant Martian spiders. It sounds so completely bananas but honestly should prove to be a ton of fun. Lastly, players with the season pass will have access to a remaster of the single-player campaign of Far Cry 3. Far Cry 3 Classic Edition will be available for sale at a later date but will be available to Far Cry 5 players with the season pass first.

Far Cry 5 looks like it will be a ridiculous and fun open-world shooter, about what you would expect from a Far Cry game. However, it is nice to see that the season pass includes adventures that will likely still have the same feel as the core game but will allow players to experience some varied and interesting stories. Are you down to take on some massive Martian spiders, or are you content to blow up outposts in Hope County? Let us know below what you think about Ubisoft’s season pass ambitions.
