Fenix Rage was released in September of 2014 to fairly positive reviews, comparing the game to a cross between Super Meat Boy and Flappy Bird. The game was difficult and addicting, but it had some difficulty spikes that a lot of players didn’t find fitting. Renaming the game to Fenix Furia, it is now on its way to PS4 and Xbox One, with tweaks to the gameplay and additional modes to celebrate the re-release.

Developed by Green Lava Studios from Costa Rica, Fenix Furia will now feature a split-screen two-player mode that has players controlling Fenix and Undead Fenix in a head-to-head race to the finish. The game’s main levels have been tweaked in response to feedback from the PC version of the game, and so things such as jarring difficulty spikes should be less egregious. For those who are concerned about the game being too difficult, there will be an easy mode that intends to ease players into the frenetic pacing of the gameplay.

Fenix Rage was originally supposed to be released on home consoles in 2015 but ran into some legal trouble when an unnamed company blocked the usage of the word “Rage” within their game title. This had Green Lava Studios dealing with legal issues before it could cement a release date. Even now, the game is still only set for Winter of 2016.
