EA Sports has announced that the American and Canadian versions of FIFA 16 will have a female player on the box.
Canadian captain Christine Sinclair will appear on the cover in Canada while Alex Morgan, who helped her team win the World Cup last month, will appear on the cover in America.
“It is an incredible honor to be one of the first women featured on the cover of FIFA,” said Morgan. “I know people all over the world play this game and I’m really excited that FIFA 16 is putting such an important spotlight on women’s soccer. And now to share the cover with today’s greatest player is surreal.”
FIFA 16 will include 12 of the top international women’s teams for the first time. It will launch on September 22 for PC, Xbox One, Xbox 360, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Android and iOS.
