Christopher Cross and Dylan Schwan beam into the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to talk to Tom Hanks through powerful hologram technology. A Hologram for the King is Tom Tykwer’s newest film and we give it a thorough breakdown to see whether the Toms still have it.
Before that though, there’s a The Magnificent Seven trailer and Jason Bourne trailer. So we naturally discuss those, as well as some films we’ve seen over the past week. Chris talks about The Phoenix Incident, the new film from Keith Arem who is probably most famous for being the director of Call of Duty and Saint’s Row: The Third. How is that for a video game tie-in? Dylan talks about John Carney’s Sing Street, a musical coming-of-age film that sounds like the kind of movie right up Dylan’s alley.
You can find a review of Sing Street here.
Next week, Chris is absent and so we have a special treat for thriller fans instead. We will be reviewing Hush and The Invitation – two new thrillers from the Oculus director and Jennifer’s Body director, respectively.
