Christopher Cross and Dylan Schwan have brought Xander Cage back from the dead for their own entertainment. Hear them talk about D.J. Caruso’s xXx: Return of Xander Cage – Vin Diesel’s newest action venture. Is it as insane as the trailers implied? Can a movie like this really exist in 2017? And why is Vin Diesel so goddamn good at bringing together diverse casts and using them effectively? We discuss all of this and more.
However, there are also several movies and shows we’ve been watching. Chris gets things rolling with his thoughts on Netflix’s A Series of Unfortunate Events and Dylan discusses the Oscar-nominated Lion and whether its worthy of the buzz. Taboo is Steven Knight’s new show starring Tom Hardy, so we talk about that as well as The Founder, a biopic about the founder of McDonald’s.
Most importantly though, the Oscar nominees have been announced for the 2017 Academy Awards. We talk snubs and surprises and go through the list of what got nominations. Surprise! La La Land is mentioned.
