Film Fallout Podcast #56 – The Blackcoat’s Chips (and a Giveaway)

Chips

Sorry for the delay on the episode. Technical difficulties and health problems led to me taking some extra time to edit the podcast. But rest easy now, because Christopher Cross and Dylan Schwan are here with the review you’ve all been waiting for: Chips. Starring Dax Shepard and Michael Pena, Chris and Dylan delve into the homophobia and blatant sexism in the film. We find some nice things to say, but its muddled in a film that is best left unseen. So let us describe it to you instead!

Otherwise, Dylan saw T2 Trainspotting and The Blackcoat’s Daughter, while Chris went and saw After the Storm and Personal Shopper. There’s plenty for us to talk about, but we also have a bunch of news and an excellent week for blu-rays. Our pick of the week is 20th Century Women over Silence and that’s mainly just because it has commentary with writer/director Mike Mills.

So, next week we’re back with a review of Ghost in the Shell. But because we’re gracious people who want to spread our enjoyment of the original film, we’re giving away two digital copies of the original Ghost in the Shell anime. To enter, just send an email to christopher.cross@bagogames.com with the name of the director of the live-action remake, and include in the subject line “Ghost in the Shell Giveaway”. There will be other ways to enter through our various social media accounts, so follow those below if you’d like to win yourself a copy. You have to live in either the United States or Canada in order to use the code (sorry, it’s all we have access to usually). Deadline is April 10th, 2017.

Give a listen to the podcast below:

Film Fallout is a weekly podcast about film and television. Every week, Christopher Cross and Dylan Schwan discuss news happening in the industry, blu-ray releases coming out this week, what they’ve been watching, and then a review of one movie. You can listen to it on SoundCloud, iTunes, or on BagoGames. Also follow us on Instagram for some behind-the-scenes magic. We are both on Twitter, if you’d like to follow us there. Chris is @HammerkopCross, Dylan is @DreaminDylanS, and you can follow the podcast @Filmfalloutcast. And finally, there is a Facebook page for the podcast if you’d like to ‘like’ us on that.
