Final Fantasy Awakening Launches in AU on Mobile

Final Fantasy titles are becoming commonplace on mobile devices. With the upcoming FFXV mobile launch and a number of other titles already on Android and iOS devices, it seems that the market is almost saturated. That hasn’t stopped Oasis Games from releasing Final Fantasy Awakening. Currently, the title is available in Australia, New Zealand, Philippines, India, Laos, Cambodia, and  Burma, on Android. An iOS version will follow shortly.

But why should anyone care about this particular title? In all honesty, I had no intention of writing anything about it at first. What caught my attention is the announcement that the game will include over 200 high-quality cinematics with the original Japanese voice actors. Hanazawa Kana, Kaji Yuuki, Nakamura Yuuichi and more.

Based on the Type-0 characters, the game uses similar action-based combat mechanics and introduces new character classes. Leveling up lets you earn in-game funds that will be used to enhance skills and equipment for your team. Also included is Eidolon summoning, which will be key in some of the more epic battles. From the screenshots and the sounds of some of the new classes, the game looks to be another solid entry in the Final Fantasy series for mobile fans. There is no current release date for other regions, but it shouldn’t be long before it shows up worldwide.

Were you a fan of other Final Fantasy titles on mobile devices? Did Type-0 capture your imagination and make you want more? If the game s a solid release, should it get a remaster on current consoles as well? What are your thoughts? We want to hear from you in the comments below.
