Final Fantasy’s most elusive entry, Type-0, has always seemed to escape its manifest destiny of an international release at every turn, or at least in forlorn fans’ minds. Now, we finally have one.
Square Enix has now announced the HD remaster of Final Fantasy Type-0 coming to PS4 and Xbox One this past E3. Previously exclusive to Japan and the PSP, the game will be fully translated in English on a PS4 or Xbox One in all its 1080p glory.
Final Fantasy Type-0 HD will release on March 17th in North America and two days later in Japan on March 19th, and March 20th in Europe. As an added bonus, it will include a voucher for Episode Duscae, the downloadable Final Fantasy XV demo.
Type 0 tells the story of 14 students (Class 0) who are endowed with special abilities and are soon drawn into a war between the Milites Empire and the Dominion of Rubrum. Type-0 is noted as the darkest Final Fantasy to date, and recently the company was rumored to have renewed and registered rights to a Type 0-2.
The game is set for a special presentation at this year’s Tokyo Game Show according to new CVG reports. Others include Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End; Grand Theft Auto V; Dragon Quest Heroes; Until Dawn; playable demos of Nintendo’s Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and 3DS; and three games titled as No. 54, 55, and 56 that, according to rumor, may be Final Fantasy XV.
The game will also reportedly include a download code for Final Fantasy XV’s upcoming demo, whose official release remains unknown.
