Final Fantasy XV Is now available on iOS

Attention Apple users! The Final Fantasy XV: Pocket Edition has landed on iOS. The Final Fantasy XV: Pocket Edition is an abridged version of Final Fantasy XV designed for mobile devices.

With a Chibi art aesthetic, full voice acting, and hack and slash combat designed for mobile phones, Final Fantasy XV: Pocket Edition is a more linear adventure designed to let people enjoy the Final Fantasy XV storyline in a different way from the sprawling open world of the console or the upcoming PC release.

The open world nature of the original game has been replaced with a more linear scope, where Noctis and the gang travel from plot point to plot point (slightly altered from the console version) in order to streamline things while also keeping the core of the game intact. Other elements of the game have changed as well, to mimic this more stripped down, casual feel.

The first chapter of the Final Fantasy XV: Pocket Edition is free, with the later chapters costing the user money. You can either buy all the chapters for a 19.99 price point or pay individually. Chapters two and three are 0.99 while all other chapters (4-10) cost 3.99 each. One major unknown lies in the fact that the Android version doesn’t have a release date, only the option to pre-register for the game.

Rumors have popped up about a possible Android release of Friday, February 9th, but that hasn’t been confirmed by Square Enix or anyone associated with the Pocket Edition.

Either way, players that can’t bring themselves to make their way through Final Fantasy XV’s huge open world may feel right at home with the mobile version. Alternately, people who love Final Fantasy XV and want to take it on the go may feel that the Final Fantasy XV: Pocket Edition is just what they need to take Noctis and the gang on the go.
