Firaxis has announced that it’s delaying XCOM 2. The next entry in the cult-classic RPG series is now pegged for a February 5th, 2016 release.

The studio reassures fans that the delay will allow them to make “the best possible game,” even if it means waiting ’til the next calendar year.

“With XCOM 2, we want to have more depth, more replayability, and more investment in your soldiers,” Firaxis promised, saying that the extension would “give us the time we need to deliver on our promise to you.”

When it hits, XCOM 2 will be Firaxis’ first XCOM in four years since XCOM: Enemy Unknown in 2012 for last-gen consoles and PC. The game is slated for Playstation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
