Fire Emblem Fates To Include Same Sex Marriage

<p>Nintendo have confirmed to Polygon that <em>Fire Emblem&colon; Fates<&sol;em> will have same sex marriage included in Fire Emblem&colon; Fates&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>The company stated that the game will have &&num;8220&semi;the possibility for a same-sex marriage to take place between the main character created by the gamer and another character in the game&period;&&num;8221&semi; This gameplay mechanic is from the previous entry&comma; <em>Fire Emblem&colon; Awakening<&sol;em>&comma; which allows your character to have conversations with his or her allies&period; Eventually after these conversations&comma; your character and another can be married&comma; but relationships between same sex couples were not included&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>There are two versions of the game which are split up by storyline with a third storyline releasing as a download&period; In the conquest version of <em>Fire Emblem Fates<&sol;em>&comma; there will be a male sex relationship&comma; and in the Birthright version of Fire Emblem Fates&comma; there is a female sex relationship&period; Both relationships will be included in the third edition of the game&comma; which will be available as DLC&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>Other examples of same sex relationships within video games&comma; include EA and BioWare&&num;8217&semi;s <em>Mass Effect<&sol;em> and <em>Dragon Age<&sol;em> series&comma; and Square Enix&&num;8217&semi;s <em>Fear Effect<&sol;em> series&period; Nintendo went on to say that &&num;8220&semi;&lbrack;they&rsqb; believe that &lbrack;their&rsqb; gameplay experiences should reflect the diversity of the communities&period;&&num;8221&semi;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p><em>Fire Emblem&colon; Fates<&sol;em> is scheduled to release sometime next year for North America and Europe&comma; and June 25th 2015 for Japan&period; A <a href&equals;"https&colon;&sol;&sol;bagogames&period;com&sol;new-fire-emblem-is-now-called-fire-emblem-fates-comes-out-2016&sol;" target&equals;"&lowbar;blank">trailer was recently released<&sol;a> during Nintendo&&num;8217&semi;s E3 Digital Event&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>&nbsp&semi;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p><strong>Via<&sol;strong> <a href&equals;"http&colon;&sol;&sol;www&period;polygon&period;com&sol;2015&sol;6&sol;23&sol;8836513&sol;fire-emblem-fates-same-sex-relationships-nintendo" target&equals;"&lowbar;blank">Polygon<&sol;a><&sol;p>&NewLine;
