Liam Neeson seems to be the next Charles Bronson of action. I mean that in both a good and bad way as the Taken series is quickly turning into his Death Wish franchise. Despite Neeson’s statement about Taken 2 being the last, he will be returning for a third film dubbed Tak3n (yes, they’re actually calling it that). The next in the action series will find Bryan Mills not actually saving anyone who’s been kidnapped, but on the run from the law after being framed for murder. One of his pursuers is an agent played by Forrest Whitaker, but it doesn’t sound like the two will have a grand showdown. Based on the brief summary of the plot, it doesn’t sound that fitting to call it a Taken film since Neeson isn’t actually seeking any captive individuals. Then again, it may be best to take a fugitive angle since it’d be pretty goofy if he kept saving members of his family.
Taken 3 is set to open on January 9, 2015.
