The creator of Flappy Bird, Doug Nguyen, told CNBC that Flappy Bird will be coming back to app stores in August. The new version will include multi-player and its supposed to be less addicting. *cough Flappy Bird less addicting? Is that possible?

Nguygen disclosed to CNBC “…that he would rather people spend their time doing more productive things rather than attempt to guide a cartoon bird through pipes to rack up a high score”. He seems to have failed to notice that beating all your friends at Flappy Bird is a dream for many smartphone owners.

If you are one of the Flappy Bird fans, Nguyen has more mobile games coming. Tell us in the comment section if you played Flappy Bird before or are planning on purchasing the new version in August.
