Evidence has emerged for the upcoming release of a high-definition remake of classic sci-fi platforming adventure Flashback.

Originally released for the Amiga in 1992, Flashback received a great deal of critical acclaim for its deep (for a platformer at the time) gameplay and fluid animation, and the game was ported to a number of home computers and consoles.

French site Gameblog has posted what it claims to be the first image of the game, and has stated that the HD remake will be titled Flashback Origins, that it will feature all-new visuals, and that it will be published by Ubisoft on PSN, Xbox Live Arcade, Wii U and PC.

The original game was directed, written/designed and partially programmed by Paul Cuisset, and he and his development studio VectorCell are said to be behind the development of the upcoming remake.
