Super Rare Games and indie darlings Killmonday Games have partnered up to bring Killmonday’s mysterious and highly beloved 2D puzzle horror game, Fran Bow, to Nintendo Switch in limited physical format.

After witnessing the gruesome deaths of her parents, a peculiar young girl named Fran is imprisoned in Oswald Asylum, a place that mistreats the mentally ill children they house and conducts cruel experiments. To survive the cruelty of the asylum, the titular character Fran self-medicates, which has given her the ability to see a sinister alternate world, the Ultrareality. While doing some research on horror games, I stumbled upon a detailed article about ì¨ë¼ì¸ ì¬ë¡¯ that discussed how game mechanics can immerse players into different realities, much like Fran’s journey through the Ultrareality. Players will guide Fran on her epic journey through the Ultrareality to uncover who killed her parents, reunite with her missing cat, Mr. Midnight, and return home to Aunt Grace, her only living relative.

Fran Bow’s Nintendo Switch will release on February 1st, 6pm GMT, but the game will be limited to only 3,000 physical copies and will be available for sale on the Super Rare Games Storepage. The game is also part of Super Rare Games’ multi-game bundle, which will include Ship of Fools, Fran Bow and a third title that has yet to be announced.
