Gaist Crusher God Hits Japan In September

Capcom have announced a September 4 release date for their upcoming 3DS exclusive, Gaist Crusher God. The game is developed be Treasure and is the sequel to Gaist Crusher which was released in December last year. A multiplayer action game, Gaist Crusher was envisioned as a more kid friendly version of Capcom’s phenomenally profitable Monster Hunter series.

In an attempt to recreate the success of Level 5’s Inazuma Eleven franchise, the game  launched with a mange adaptation and a TV anime series.  Capcom hoped that Gaist Crusher could become the newest multimedia phenomenon for the Japanese youth. Unfortunately for them this was not to be. The game sold less that 8,000 units in its first week which was a massive failure. By releasing Gaist Crusher God outside the highly competitive holiday season, the publisher is hoping that  they can give the franchise some more exposure and a second lease on life.
