Plants Vs. Zombies is one of the rare gems that bolster content beyond their price point. With the expansion to more and more consoles from PC to iOS to XBLA and PSN on to Android there could only be one reason that the game has lived out this long cycle. Because it’s one of the best games I’ve ever played. Yes, it is in that exclusive category just because of the sheer Angry Birds-esc replay ability, with a beautiful art style and crisp animations that create simply addictive gameplay.
Plants Vs. Zombies is a cute game that contains some of the best animations with simple gameplay that provides for numerous, diverse ways to play. If you pick up this game for the first time and develop your strategy for what’s best, it may be completely different from your friends, much like my experience was. You could play the same level dozens of different ways and not get bored. You can go through the campaign mode which is amazing and featuring one of the best side characters in gaming, Crazy Dave. Seriously, I can’t get enough of this guy. This probably comes from the witty humor and the amount of love PopCap poured into this game. This is one of the few games where you can feel the love that went into the project created by developers who care about what they’re putting into the market. However, even after you finish the campaign there are mini games which are fun and very challenging, Puzzle mode where you can play as the zombies, Co-op, Versus mode and most of all, Survival mode. All of these modes fleshed out and played to their extent could turn a 3 hour game easily into a 40 hour adventure. I highly recommend playing these as they add so much to the overall experience. This doesn’t even include the Zen garden and the tree of wisdom which add a nice side game to the main experience. 
Plants Vs. Zombies is one of the few games that is able to instill a feeling into the player. Much like the PSN title Flower relaxes the player, Plants Vs. Zombies uplifts the player almost instilling a sense of happiness. This may be due to the art style of the game or something else entirely but it does seem to change people’s moods.
But in closing, Plants Vs. Zombies is one of the best games of our generation and you would simply be out of your mind not to pick it up as cheap as it is and it is accessible on literally every system. Honestly the only complaint I have about Plants Vs. Zombies is that there isn’t a sequel out already because I want to sink my teeth into more content, even though I’ve invested 50+ hours into the game already. This has to be the definition of a perfect game. Seriously, go pick this game up, play it, enjoy it, tell your friends about it, or I will be forced to hunt you down and plunge a steak knife into your neck.
