Game On Expo Comes To Phoenix August 9th – 11th

So I happen to live in Arizona, yes the Wild West where not very much happens during the summer. If you’ve ever been here during the summer you will know why.

Every now and then we have an expo like Comic Con in Phoenix, which is located directly on the sun, so those are pushed to November and such so you’re comic books won’t turn to dust like Thanos just snapped.

However, recently I found out about a gaming convention that comes to Phoenix in the summer called Game On Expo, from August 9th – 11th of this year to be exact.

Seeing as I love video games, need to network and want to meet some of my favorite voice actors, I plan on traversing the desert to enjoy a sweaty time at the Phoenix Convention Center.

What I’m looking forward to.

Voice-Actors

Now, I’m use to meeting celebrities, I use to go to San Diego Comic Con religiously in the 90’s and early 2000’s. Sadly life got in the way and I’m yet to return on SDCC, will it happen? I don’t know. At the Game On Expo there will be some AAA talent signing and taking pics with you for a paltry fee. Who’s going to be there? Let me tell you.

Of course there are many more voice-over actors and actresses that will be in attendance, but these are the big three for me. Have to dust of my copies of Bayonetta and Bayonetta 2 to get those puppies signed.

E-Sports

Sadly I’m not good enough to compete in any of these expo tournaments just yet, heck I don’t own some of the games they’re playing, but nonetheless it will be fun to watch the crème of the crop wail on each other for the ultimate prize. Here are the games that will be put to the test.

Retro Tournaments

Now, this is the one I may be participating in if I have the time. We all know how much I love older games and how I can slay most of them no problem, so these tournaments should be no problem, right? Let’s hope they have some games I use to play or am currently playing.

I must shamefully admit that, the only game I would be worth my salt, in on that list is Super Mario Kart, I use to own my friends back in the day on the SNES with that title. Better practice on my SNES Mini before convention time.

There will also be an arcade there where, since I’m old, can relive my youth holding the sticky joysticks and wondering where all the time went.

Vendors will, of course, also be at Game On Expo waiting to make my wallet emptier and emptier, hopefully I’ll find a good deal or twenty, but I’m sure these vendors know what they have, unlike the shady world of Craigslist.

There will be panels that are currently being worked on by the staff and should be on their website www.gameonexpo.com very soon.

Table top gaming will also have a huge presence there, but seeing as I have no friends and don’t really leave my house I don’t partake in many table top games, except Solitaire.

So who’s going if you’re in the Phoenix or surrounding area? I know I’ll be there, hit me up if you see me. You’ll also be able to follow my exploits there on Instagram or on Twitter @Superjerry13, can’t wait to see you all there.
