Gamescom: Tearaway Unfolded for PS4

Tearaway for the PSVita helped sell the console, was highly successful and innovative. This game is being adapted for the PS4. Now it is important for fans and admirers of the game looking for a direct port to understand that the Tearaway Unfolded is an adaptation meaning it is the PS4’s version of the game.

The story in which the original game was told is meant to be similar but with more areas to explore, expect better graphics and more gameplay features. One of the these features is the use of DualShock’s light. You can catch the attention of the main character Atoi with the light and transform the level you are in for example growing flowers and trees, which may help you access certain areas.

The DualShock controller is how the game is played, (like most games) but the DualShock 4 becomes a direct tool in interacting with the game. If you aim the controller upwards when Atoi (one of the lead characters) is about to throw something she will throw it into your controller, which will force your controller to shake and reflect the noise of whatever is trapped inside it. After the object has calmed down you can throw the object back into the game, obviously to help with some puzzle or because it’s just fun.

Sony and Media Molecule are both unwilling to say when a release date is expected so we shall have to hold our breath for now. If you watch the video above of Media Molecule’s presentation you’ll see that it has enough to get our juices flowing in anticipation of Tearaway Unfolded that promises to be as fun as it’s Vita sibling.
