Tony Bartel (president of GameStop) recently revealed that he believes a price cut of Sony’s portable handheld, the PlayStation Vita, before the PlayStation 4 launches would “make sense”.
This was revealed in an interview with Forbes:
“With multi-screen gaming continuing to rise in popularity, I think you’ll see more gamers purchase a Vita to take advantage of the enhanced gameplay offered by the PS4. We’re always happy to see a price cut! Both bundles and price cuts tend to spur additional sales, so this would make sense leading up to launch.”
At the PS4 conference held earlier last month, Sony revealed that the vast majority of PS4 games will be able to be played through the Vita unit itself similar to how the Wii U Gamepad can play certain Wii U games such as New Super Mario Bros. U on the Gamepad only.
