<p>Although we reported yesterday that the president of Nintendo was &#8220;satisfied&#8221; with the Wii U sales, it seems that the console is doing just dandy in the US with GameStop revealing some impressive sales figures over the Christmas period.</p>
<p>According to the companies sales report, in the nine weeks leading up to the 29th December last year, the Wii U has sold 320,000 times.</p>
<p>The company has claimed the Wii U launch as &#8220;successful&#8221; and achieved global sales (from the 6700 stores across North America, Europe and Australia) of $2.8 billion (£1.7 billion).</p>
<p>Not bad for a global recession eh?</p>
