<p>With Game Developers Conference Europe fast approaching, GDC have released a detailed report called &#8221;European State of the Industry&#8221;. One of the report&#8217;s findings is that developers in Europe seem to prefer working on Sony&#8217;s PlayStation 4 console to Microsoft&#8217;s Xbox One. Amongst the companies surveyed, 20% are working on a PS4 game and 33% expect their next game to be on the PS4. In contrast, only 13% are working on an Xbox One game and only 23% expect their next game to be on that platform.</p>
<p>The GDC report discovered that it is actually PC and mobile which are the most popular platforms in the continent. 58% of European developers are working on a PC game and 65% are creating titles for smartphones and tablets. Another notable discovery was the growing popularity of crowdfunding. Over 41% of European developers plan on using the crowdfunding model to finance their future games.</p>
