<p>2K Games and gearbox Software have announced they are in production of a 16-bit version of their popular Borderlands franchise. The companies will be teaming up with BAFTA-winning creative agency, Ralph to assist in production of the game.</p>
<p>The game will be entitled <em>The Border Lands</em> and &#8220;offers a tantalizing glimpse into the origins of many elements still present in today’s hit franchise.&#8221;</p>
<p>Gearbox explains the game as &#8220;a late 1980’s gaming theme in mind and to coincide with the launch,&#8221; and even included a 1980&#8217;s style <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X5JHBdcNu6g" target="_blank">promotional video</a>.</p>
<p>People will be able to play the game for free at <a href="http://www.wubwub.eu/" target="_new">www.wubwub.eu</a>.</p>
