Gearbox Announces a “Demake” 16-Bit Game Entitled “The Border Lands”

2K Games and gearbox Software have announced they are in production of a 16-bit version of their popular Borderlands franchise. The companies will be teaming up with BAFTA-winning creative agency, Ralph to assist in production of the game.

The game will be entitled The Border Lands and “offers a tantalizing glimpse into the origins of many elements still present in today’s hit franchise.”

Gearbox explains the game as “a late 1980’s gaming theme in mind and to coincide with the launch,” and even included a 1980’s style promotional video.

People will be able to play the game for free at www.wubwub.eu.
