Gearbox ‘Wants To Get Started On Another Borderlands’

Gearbox is breaking out its proverbial tool chest for another Borderlands game, new reports from PAX South say.

“We want to think about the future and we want to think about what the next Borderlands is and we’re going to need some help,” Gearbox CEO Randy Pitchford said at a Borderlands panel at the convention. “The fact is, we’re not working on a new Borderlands game, but we want to.”

Shortly thereafter, Pitchford posted a job listing of sorts on Twitter to recruit help for making this new entry in the Borderlands series.

“If you are in the industry and you think you can help us, we want you to help us. We want to get started on a new Borderlands game,” Pitchford continued. “There’s literally nothing to tell, but we’re ready to start.”

Pitchford had previously teased news regarding a Borderlands sequel during a Q&A session last Friday at a PAX South event.

In addition, Gearbox also revealed new details for upcoming Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel DLC. The third DLC pack, dubbed ‘The Lady Hammerlock Pack,’ will feature Sir Hammerlock’s older sister, Aurelia, as a playable character. A fourth Pre-Sequel DLC pack will see players experience “going in the mind” of Claptrap with more details to come.

As it was announced last week, the franchise will be making the leap to current-gen consoles with the two-for-one remastering of Borderlands: The Handsome Collection.

We had a few ideas of our own about what Borderlands should be doing sometime soon, but what do you think? Do you want to see a Borderlands 3? Don’t be shy. Sound off in the comments below!
