Genshin Impact, an upcoming action RPG title from developers miHoYo, has received a new opening cinematic not long ago. The release of this new cinematic coincides with the plans to open the curtains for the next Closed Beta.
For those who haven’t seen the previous trailer, it’s linked here, in our previous article covering Genshin. In it, the viewer is guided through the world of Teyvat by Amber, one of the game’s characters. The video also shows brief spats of gameplay throughout, highlighting Amber and Xiao’s combat abilities.

New Information
Today’s trailer highlights events prior to the Genshin Impact’s plot. The main character, known as the Traveler, opposes a mysterious god. With no name revealed, the god attacks the Traveler and their sister, and an explosive battle ensues.
Before long, the two are overwhelmed, and the unknown god uses their powers to imprison the Traveler’s sister. The trailer then cuts to black after the Traveler and god clash once more, ending with the logo being shown.
After these events, the Traveler looks to find their lost sister and then embarks on an adventure through Teyvat. For the Traveler, the journey is one to unveil the secrets of Teyvat with a companion met along the way, known as Paimon.
Genshin Impact’s Closed Beta begins on March 19th.
