Ghost in the Shell Does More Damage Control, Hires Asian Actor

<p>Assuming you&&num;8217&semi;ve come in contact with any form of animation&comma; you&&num;8217&semi;re probably aware of a little anime film titled <em>Ghost in the Shell<&sol;em>&period; If you browse the internet &lpar;and it&&num;8217&semi;s safe to assume you do&rpar;&comma; you&&num;8217&semi;ve heard there is going to be a live action <em>Ghost in the Shell<&sol;em> adaptation starring <a href&equals;"http&colon;&sol;&sol;www&period;imdb&period;com&sol;name&sol;nm0424060&sol;&quest;ref&lowbar;&equals;nv&lowbar;sr&lowbar;1">Scarlett Johansson<&sol;a>&period; The popular 1995 film is set in Japan and features very Asian-centric themes and all characters appear to be of Asian descent&period; Well&comma; based on that information&comma; you&&num;8217&semi;ll notice that Scarlett Johansson isn&&num;8217&semi;t Japanese&period; Neither is the majority of the starring cast that includes <a href&equals;"http&colon;&sol;&sol;www&period;imdb&period;com&sol;name&sol;nm0685856&sol;&quest;ref&lowbar;&equals;tt&lowbar;cl&lowbar;t2">Michael Pitt<&sol;a>&comma; <a href&equals;"http&colon;&sol;&sol;www&period;imdb&period;com&sol;name&sol;nm1561982&sol;&quest;ref&lowbar;&equals;tt&lowbar;cl&lowbar;t5">Pilou Asbæk<&sol;a>&comma; and <a href&equals;"http&colon;&sol;&sol;www&period;imdb&period;com&sol;name&sol;nm0000300&sol;&quest;ref&lowbar;&equals;tt&lowbar;cl&lowbar;t3">Juliette Binoche<&sol;a>&period; It seems Dreamworks&comma; the studio releasing the film&comma; and director <a href&equals;"http&colon;&sol;&sol;www&period;imdb&period;com&sol;name&sol;nm2782185&quest;ref&lowbar;&equals;tt&lowbar;ov&lowbar;dr">Rupert Sanders<&sol;a> decided to add another Asian actor into the mix&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p><a href&equals;"http&colon;&sol;&sol;www&period;imdb&period;com&sol;name&sol;nm3822462&sol;&quest;ref&lowbar;&equals;nv&lowbar;sr&lowbar;1">Rila Fukushima<&sol;a> of <em>Arrow<&sol;em> and <em>The Wolverine<&sol;em> fame has been cast in an unspecified role for the film&period; Fukushima was a particularly great addition to the cast of <em>The Wolverine<&sol;em> as the superhero&&num;8217&semi;s bodyguard&period; As of now&comma; there is no trailer or promotional still past the one featuring Scarlett with her bob haircut&period; This news probably won&&num;8217&semi;t curb people&&num;8217&semi;s hatred towards the film&comma; but it shows that studios are at least willing to bargain with the public opinion&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p><em>Ghost in the Shell<&sol;em> is set to be released on March 31st 2017&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p><strong>Source&colon; <a href&equals;"http&colon;&sol;&sol;www&period;hollywoodreporter&period;com&sol;heat-vision&sol;wolverine-actress-rila-fukushima-joins-896857">The Hollywood Reporter<&sol;a> &lpar;via <a href&equals;"http&colon;&sol;&sol;www&period;avclub&period;com&sol;article&sol;wolverines-rila-fukushima-joins-ghost-shell-237331">The A&period;V&period; Club<&sol;a>&rpar;<&sol;strong><&sol;p>&NewLine;
