Peter Molyneux and his new company, 22 Cans, have exceeded their required Kickstarter target to officially get to work and release Godus.
Godus, for those of you who don’t remember, will be a god sim which currently has the launch window of September 2013 and will also be launching on iOS devices in the future.
At the time of writing, the project has achieved precisely £503,399 with just eight hours left before money leaves backers bank accounts and Kickstarter begin their process of transferring the funds. What is important to note is that 22 Cans will be adding extra features due to different milestones being reached after the project had reached £450,000 due to the generosity of backers. They are as follows:
- 3 Additional Single Player & Multiplayer game modes (Achieved at £460,000 raised)
- A deep social & Competitive feature: “Begin your own Sect.” (Achieved at £475,000 raised)
- James Leach writing the game story (Achieved at £485,000 raised)
- Multiplayer Co-Op and Possession Mode: “First person world crafting” (Achieved at £500,000 raised)
If the project raises another £46,601 within the next eight hours then Linux and Ouya support will also be supported by 22 Cans although this seems unlikely at this moment in time.
