GOG.com is Conducting a Little Price Experiment

Good Old Games, who recently saw System Shock 2 hit their digital shelves, is conducting a little experiment with a number of their games and their respective pricing.

In a news post on the site, they referred to the tried-and-true Scientific Method; in which they made several observations about the nature of people that play PC games, made a Hypothesis about lower prices getting more sales and then set off to do a full on experiment. There’s no better test than the real thing, right?

“This is where you, our dear gamers, step in and decide the results. We’d like to offer you the best games in history on PC & Mac for the most affordable prices, but we need to fund testing, coding, bundling, and securing rights to even more classics. So we want to see if this brings us and our partners more money overall, even though there’s less per individual sale. That’s the argument we’d like to make, but we’ll see what the results from you guys actually are as we try out our new price points.”

Check out GOG.com’s post to see if any of the new low price games catch your attention; I think I might have to pick up a few of these myself. The phrase ‘know your history’ comes to mind.
