During today’s Nintendo Direct event, Nintendo announced a Gold Mega Man amiibo to accompany select special edition versions of the upcoming game, Mega Man Legacy Collection, for the 3DS. Mega Man Legacy Collection, which launched digitally for PC, PS4, and Xbox One in August, contains the first six Mega Man games in HD along with additional content such as a challenge mode and a museum mode full of high resolution visual materials.
The Mega Man Amiibo and the Gold Mega Man amiibo unlock eleven exclusive challenges and “remixed” levels within the 3DS version of Mega Man Legacy Collection. Pricing has not yet been announced, but the Gold Mega Man amiibo will only come packaged with the Collector’s Edition of the game.
Mega Man Legacy Collection for the 3DS will launch in February of 2016.
