GoPro Announces Hero3+, Available In Two Editions

Just in case you were getting comfortable with GoPro’s Hero 3, the company recently revealed the GoPro Hero3+. The Hero3+ will come in two flavors: the Black and Silver editions.

The Black edition is 20 percent smaller than the Hero3, and even so, bumps up battery life by 30 percent. According to GoPro, image sharpness has been bumped up by 33 percent, while it now features four times faster Wi-Fi speeds and a new feature called “SuperView.” SuperView is a video mode that takes video footage from 4:3 aspect ratio and presents it in 16:9 aspect ratio.

The Silver edition, meanwhile, contains an image processor that is two times faster than that in the Hero3. It also supports 1080p video capture at 60fps, as well as 720p at 120fps. The Black edition will go for $399, while the Silver edition will go for $299. The Hero3 will still be sold, but at the lower price of $199.
