Gotham Knights Is Not An Arkham Sequel

Gotham Knights is reportedly not a continuation of the Batman Arkham games

<p>At first glance it might seem like Gotham Knights is a sequel to Arkham Knight&period; <a href&equals;"https&colon;&sol;&sol;bagogames&period;com&sol;gotham-knights-coming-to-playstation-xbox-and-pc&sol;">Batman is notably absent<&sol;a> in the Gotham Knights world&period; Which leaves the crime-fighting up to the Gotham Knights&period; This fits perfectly in with the ending to Arkham Knight&comma; in which Batman is seen either dying or disappearing&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>But developer Warner Bros&period; Games Montreal has stated this will not be the case&period; In fact&comma; Gotham Knights take place in a separate continuity&comma; despite the similar connections to Arkham Knight&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>Apparently&comma; the Arkham continuity is actually continued in <a href&equals;"https&colon;&sol;&sol;bagogames&period;com&sol;suicide-squad-kill-the-justice-league-announced&sol;">Suicide Squad&colon; Kill The Justice League<&sol;a> by Rocksteady&period; An odd choice&comma; given that Gotham Knights seem to have more similarities&period; There doesn&&num;8217&semi;t seem to be any obvious connections between the Arkham games and the upcoming Suicide Squad game&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>It&&num;8217&semi;s probably wise to put Gotham Knights in a separate timeline either way since this gives the developer some room to shake things up a bit&period; And it does make sense that Rocksteady will be continuing the franchise&comma; considering they developed 3 of the 4 Arkham games&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>It will be a while until we can play Suicide Squad though&period; While Gotham Knights is planned for a 2021 release&comma; we will have to wait until 2022 to play Suicide Squad&period; So those hoping for a continuation of Arkham will have to wait a bit longer&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p><amp-youtube layout&equals;"responsive" width&equals;"500" height&equals;"281" data-videoid&equals;"IhVf&lowbar;3TeTQE" title&equals;"Gotham Knights - World Premiere Trailer"><a placeholder href&equals;"https&colon;&sol;&sol;www&period;youtube&period;com&sol;watch&quest;v&equals;IhVf&lowbar;3TeTQE"><img src&equals;"https&colon;&sol;&sol;i&period;ytimg&period;com&sol;vi&sol;IhVf&lowbar;3TeTQE&sol;hqdefault&period;jpg" layout&equals;"fill" object-fit&equals;"cover" alt&equals;"Gotham Knights - World Premiere Trailer"><&sol;a><&sol;amp-youtube><&sol;p>&NewLine;<h3 style&equals;"text-align&colon; center">A Rich Universe<&sol;h3>&NewLine;<p>Of course&comma; that does not mean you shouldn&&num;8217&semi;t enjoy the game though&period; Despite it being in a separate continuity&comma; it seems like a game worth checking out for those into the Batman Arkham series&period; If anything&comma; it seems to take a lot of inspiration from those games&comma; but with more of an RPG element&period; So there will be plenty of stuff for Batman fans to enjoy&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p><strong>What are your thoughts on Gotham Knights&quest; Are you excited for the release&quest; Let us know in the comments&excl;<&sol;strong><&sol;p>&NewLine;<p><em>Source&colon; <a href&equals;"https&colon;&sol;&sol;www&period;game-debate&period;com&sol;news&sol;29440&sol;gotham-knights-is-reportedly-not-a-continuation-of-the-batman-arkham-series" target&equals;"&lowbar;blank">Game Debate<&sol;a><&sol;em><&sol;p>&NewLine;
